| Aslin Named Assistant Vice President
NEWARK, May 18- Bart Aslin has been named an assistant vice president and senior advancement officer at NJIT, where he'll be responsible for assisting alumni and friends of NJIT in making a planned gift to the university. His expertise is in estate planning, which includes the establishment of trusts, charitable gift annuities, wills and other charitable gift plans. In addition, he will assist the dean of the Albert Dorman Honors College in fund raising related to the Advisory Board. Most recently, he was director of development and alumni relations
at Saint Peter's College, in Jersey City. Two of his past positions
included director of planned giving for The Seeing Eye, Inc., in Morristown,
N.J., and director of development/volunteer services for Hospice of
Frederick County, Maryland. Aslin has extensive public speaking experience
and is excited about the possibility of speaking to the NJIT community
about the benefits of planned gifts.
NJIT is a public research university enrolling over
8,200 bachelor's, master's and doctoral students in 80 degree programs
through its five colleges: Newark College of Engineering, New Jersey
School of Architecture, College of Science and Liberal Arts, the School
of Management and the Albert Dorman Honors College. Research initiatives
include manufacturing, microelectronics, multimedia, transportation,
computer science, solar astrophysics, environmental engineering and
