Honorary Degress to Polshek and Bartz
James Stewart Polshek, an esteemed architect chosen to design the Clinton Presidential Library
and Carol Bartz, president of the world's largest personal computer software firm both
received honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degrees during NJIT's 119th commencement exercises. The
commencement was be held on Jan. 23, 10 a.m., in Prudential Hall, at the New Jersey Performing Arts
Center, at One Center St., in Newark.

The largest January graduating class in the history of New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark,
received their degrees Jan. 23 at the school's 119th commencement at New Jersey Performing Arts Center,

NJIT Employee John Piechnik is Fear Factor's $50,000 Winner
John Piechnik of the Continuting Professional Education Division was the $50,000 prize winner on
NBC's Fear Factor that aired Monday, January 21, 2002. John will now go on to compete against
5 previous Fear Factor winners for a larger cash prize.

The NJIT library has launched its new integrated library system--Endeavor's Voyager system. Voyager
has replaced the old system from Data Research Associates (DRA), in place at NJIT since 1991 and
incapable of being upgraded for digital and imaging features that the library now needs.
