Theodore T. Johnson, PhD, Vice President for Human Resources

Theodore T. Johnson is currently the vice president for Human Resources at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.  He has served NJIT in many capacities over the last twenty years.  Prior to joining NJIT, he served as assistant director for affirmative action at University of Houston-Downtown Campus and as coordinator for affirmative action at the University of Wisconsin campus in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Dr. Johnson was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of Tri-City Peoples Corporation, serving the cities of Irvington, Newark and East Orange.  His three year term includes serving as the chairperson of the agency’s Human Resources Committee.

Dr. Johnson earned his bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and holds a graduate degree in Human Resource Management from NJIT.  He has recently completed his doctorate in Higher Education Administration from the Graduate School of Education at Fordham University-Lincoln Center Campus in New York City.

Dr. Johnson has served on numerous boards during his tenure at NJIT, most recently completing a five-year appointment on the Newark Public Schools Advisory Board.  Dr. Johnson is currently a member of the Newark Museum Council, Black Film Festival and Science Park Marketing Committee and represents NJIT as a member of the Advocates for New Jersey’s Children.
