Info for International Students

As an international student, you’ll immediately feel at home on our 45-acre Newark campus, just 10 miles from the cultural abundance of New York City. NJIT ranks eighth in the nation for diversity, and its relatively small student body includes students from more than 100 different countries. If you are a student residing in another country and applying for an F-1 visa to study in the United States, you are considered an international student.

Our admission office makes an extra effort to assist international students, so please don’t hesitate to contact them with any and all questions. Additionally, NJIT’s Office of Student Global Initiatives will provide you with comprehensive ongoing assistance in all nonacademic matters, especially those related to maintaining valid visa status.

In addition to standard financial support packages available to all qualifying students, there are a variety of opportunities specifically for international students. More information about these is available in the financial aid section.
