New Student Orientation

Miniversity is our way of introducing NJIT to first-year students and their families.

Day one is full of information about how NJIT works and how to get things done. You’ll meet a number of faculty members, deans, administrators, and other new students—especially new students in your college or major field of interest.

You’ll especially get to know your peer mentor, who will serve as your guide through Miniversity and your first year with us. You’ll also learn about campus life, NJIT traditions, and how you fit in. (Everyone can!) That night, you’ll join in group activities and enjoy great food and entertainment.

The second day features academic advisement and registration for your fall classes. Everyone will leave NJIT with a solid understanding of what’s to come and the best way to approach the semester ahead.

Miniversity is coordinated by our Office of First Year Students, located in Campbell Hall on the first level. Dr. Sharon Morgan is the associate dean for first-year students.
