Meet Hajere Gatollari

Hajere Gatollari commutes to NJIT but she’s often at the college since she’s involved in so many activities.  She majors in biology and wants to get her master’s degree and work in research.  She works hard and accomplishes a lot but always has a smile on her face.

On my iPod:

“I don’t want to lose your love tonight” by The Outfield

Favorite movie:

“Drive.”

Why did you Pick NJIT?

I chose to come to NJIT because I wanted to go to a school where I would have a more science-oriented curriculum.

What’s best about NJIT?

The diversity of programs that NJIT offers is pretty impressive.

Why did you pick your major?

When I was a kid I loved learning about nature and about how living organisms worked, so being a Bio major was the only option that made sense.

How do you get deeply involved in your major?

I try to stay up to date in new developments; I’m always checking the news for medical breakthroughs and other discoveries.

What is campus life like?

Even though I am a commuter, I spend most of my time here on campus. I am constantly working on projects and homework so I keep myself busy.

What do you do socially?

I’m in a bunch of organizations so I am normally attending meetings or hanging out with my friends.

What clubs and activities do you belong to?

Aside from being a Student Ambassador for the Admissions Office, I was a Murray Center Ambassador, I am Editor-in-Chief of the Honors College Newsletter and Secretary of the Honors Student Council/

What is your career goal?

I am looking to get my master’s degree in either neuroscience or pathology and I wish to work in a bio research laboratory.
