Here's a shot of three NCE comrades (Ted Feuerbach, Paul Schwartz, and Elton Tuohig) from the Class of 1938's 70th Anniversary Reunion last year. Paul and Elton were Chem.E.'s and Ted was an ME. All three traveled a couple hundred miles to be at their Reunion (not to mention 70+ years), and both Paul and Elton stayed on campus in an NJIT residence hall -- their first "overnight" stay on campus, since of course we were all commuters back in our student days.
Now it's time for us to add to the tradition (and pictures to prove it) with our own 70th Reunion. On the weekend of June 12-13, 2009, the NCE Class of 1939, will celebrate our 70th Anniversary Class Reunion on NJIT's campus.

From everything we hear it will be a great time. Besides, the “Old Guard” like us always gets lots of special attention.
If your mobility ain't what it used to be, don’t let it keep you away. Alumni Reunion Weekend parking will be plentiful on campus, the Office of Alumni Relations has a six-passenger golf cart shuttling folks about, and a cheerful student will drive you anywhere you want to go. All of the buildings have elevators, and the facilities are all handicapped accessible. We hear from our predecessors that the students and staff did an outstanding job of attending to everyone’s special needs.
The reunion weekend will encompass every class that has graduated in a year ending in “4” or “9”, beginning with our class and ending with the class of 2004. It will offer intellectually stimulating events such as department visits and academic presentations, good parties, the fun of reuniting with classmates and an opportunity to talk with alumni of all ages. It all gets capped off on Saturday night with a first class dinner party and a seven piece band.
Planning for the reunion has already begun, and a brochure with all the information will be in your hands in late January.
Amazing changes have taken place on the campus since we graduated. If you haven’t been back within the last five years, we can promise it will make you feel like Rip Van Winkle. Our old campus has grown to 40 acres. There’s a striking new student center, several dorms, a bell tower, a modern athletic center, and beautifully landscaped green spaces all over campus. The old Eberhardt Hall has been restored to 1880’s elegance and is now the Eberhardt Hall Alumni Center and home of the University Club.
You should already have received the Reunion Questionnaire in the mail. If you haven’t already done so, please fill it out. It will be of great help in our planning. You can email it as an attachment to alumni@njit.edu.
Most importantly, do your best to come to the reunion. As you can see by the smiles in this picture, you will be glad you did.
