Classes from 1960 to 1969
In the 1960's:
- NCE's President during the 1960's was Robert Wallace Van Houten (class of 1930).
- In the early 1960's, the old Weston Hall was demolished to make way for the seven-story "modern" Weston Hall. NCE's library was on its 4th floor.
- Continuing physical expansion of the campus led to the 1966 opening of several new buildings, including Tiernan Hall.
- NCE awarded its first doctoral degree in 1964.
- The Computer Science Department was formed in 1969.
