Class of 1962
NCE CLASS OF 1962
50th CLASS REUNION
ON ALUMNI WEEKEND!
Friday, May 18 – Sunday, May 20, 2012

An Unqualified Success
We committee members spent a lot of time on the phone telling our classmates what a good time they would have if they came to our 50th reunion. We didn’t know the half of it.
The Class of ’62 and their guests were 60 strong and the atmosphere was charged with energy and good humor from the beginning to the end.
Friday night we gathered in the beautifully restored Eberhardt Hall for cocktails and a very nice buffet. The Young Alumni had teamed up with us to put together a trivia game involving NJIT now and then, which became very animated as the teams competed vigorously with one another.
Many of us signed up to stay in a dorm because we wanted the experience. Martha Stewart linens were nowhere in sight to be sure, but it was clean, convenient, and inexpensive, and because there were so many of us, it added a whole other element of fun to the weekend.
The quality of the faculty lectures and of the student exhibits made us very proud of our alma mater, as did the 40 acre campus with all its up-to-date facilities and beautiful landscaping. At lunch on Saturday, President Bloom shared his vision of the future of NJIT and left us feeling that the university is in very capable hands. We found Joel and his wife, Dr. Diane Bloom, very hospitable and very accessible, and many of us enjoyed long chats with them.
It’s hard to say what the highlight of the weekend was, but one contender would certainly be the NCE Cheer as performed at the Class of ’62 reception by former NCE Cheerleaders Leona Seazholtz, Virginia Sulzberger, and Edith Perry.
Another highlight was the Saturday night cocktails, dancing, dinner and piano lounge, where alumni of all ages talked and yes, even danced together. The young ones loved our “war stories” and we loved being brought up to date.
To those who came and helped make it the weekend the success it was, we thank you. But most of all, our special thanks to Leona Seazholtz, our wonderful Reunion Chair, who kept the energy going from beginning to end. She is still an extraordinary cheerleader and we love her for it.
