Fellow NJIT Soccer Alumni:  Spring 2009 will mark the 10^th year of our annual Florida soccer reunions with Coach Mal Simon.  To mark this special anniversary, we'll be planning a real landmark weekend for 2009.  Please check back soon for more details.

Past events:

February 2001

• February 10-11, 2001 -- The 2^nd Annual Alumni Soccer Reunion was held on Saturday included Softball, Volleyball and Picnic at Tradewinds Park, an afternoon soccer match.  Sunday's golf outing was at Country Club of Coral Springs.  The organizing committee included Joe Dias '86, Carlos Lebron '73, Marty Friedman '54, and Carlos Restrepo '82.

• February 19, 2004 -- The 5^th Annual Alumni Soccer Reunion was hosted by Alfonso Cardenas '80, Manuel Garrido '69 and Alvaro Piedrahita '73 in the Miami/Miami Beach area.  The weekend included a Reunion Reception at the Cardenas Residence, Saturday Picnic and Soccer Game in Matheson Hammock Park, and Saturday evening Reunion at the Garrido Residence.  Sunday included a Golf Outing at Miccosukee Golf Club and a Sightseeing Boat Tour of Biscayne Bay.

March 2005

• February 11-13, 2005 -- The 6^th Annual Alumni Soccer Reunion included a Friday evening get together at the home of Cesar and Griselda Gavidia, Saturday picnic at Pat Halpatiokee Regional Park, evening get together at the home of Bob and Beth Altenkirch, and a Sunday golf outing at the Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club.

• February 11, 2006 -- The 7^th Annual Soccer Reunion was held in Palm City, Florida and was hosted by Joe Dias '86 and Cesar Gavidia '77.  There was a dinner at Bob and Beth Altenkirch's on Friday evening, a picnic (and soccer match) on Saturday afternoon at Stuart Beach in Hutchinson Island, FL, dinner on Saturday evening at the Palm City home of  Joe & Maggie Dias.  The weekend wrapped up with a golf outing at the Harbour Ridge Country Club and luncheon hosted by hosted by President Altenkirch.

March 2007

• March 9-11, 2007 -- The 8^th Annual Soccer Reunion was held in Coral Springs, FL.  The weekend was hosted by Carlos A. Restrepo and his wife Donna and Hernan Borja and his wife Cuqui.  Friday evening was a dinner at Hernan & Cuqui Borja's, our Saturday picnic took place at TradeWinds Park Coconut Creek, Saturday evening was dinner at the home of Carlos & Donna Restrepo, and our Sunday golf match was hosted by Marty Friedman at the Eagle Trace Country Club.

• Alumni gathered to see the men's varsity soccer team in action in San Diego, California. The Highlanders took on San Diego State University on Friday, September 7 and then on Sunday played the University of San Diego .

• Friday-Sunday, March 7-9, 2008 -- The 9^th Annual reunion of soccer alumni in Florida returned to the Miami area.  The weekend was hosted by Alfonso Cardenas '80 and Alvaro Piedrahita '73.
