Monmouth and Ocean County Regional Club

In the summer of 2006, NJIT alumni in Monmouth County and Ocean County started the NJIT Regional Club of Monmouth County and Ocean County.
Our first event was a Sunday afternoon BlueClaws baseball game and barbeque at First Energy Park in Lakewood, NJ. On June 18, 2006, one hundred-sixteen alumni and friends spent a spectacular afternoon together, joined by President Altenkirch, Beth Altenkirch, and other friends from campus.
The Club’s steering committee has since coordinated a spring 2007 luncheon with President Altenkirch offering a campus update and Director of Athletics Lenny Kaplan leading a discussion on the university’s move to Division I Athletics. Most recently the Club organized another BlueClaws baseball game and barbeque on June 24, 2007 at First Energy Park in Lakewood, NJ.
With more than 3,400 NJIT alumni calling either Monmouth or Ocean Counties their home, NJIT is well represented in our area and we look forward to diversifying our activities and growing the Club.
