The Alumni Association of NJIT is pleased to invite you to the 4th annual Alumni Fête -- an awards celebration to be held Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in the Campus Center on the NJIT campus.
The evening’s festivities will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. and the presentation of the honors. Tickets are priced at $95. Reserved parking will be available on campus in Parking Lot #7 (immediately adjacent to the Campus Center). The deadline for receipt of your reservation is Friday, June 7. Each year the Alumni Association honors a select group of distinguished alumni for achievements in their professional careers, community activities, and/or support for NJIT, an outstanding faculty member as selected by recent graduates, and one alumnus/a who has served the alumni in exemplary fashion. The names of this year’s honorees and a brief summary of the achievements of each are shown below.

Alumni Achievement Honor Roll (in alphabetical order)
- Robert L. ‘Bob’ Bowser, PLS, PP – BSCE ‘58 For his leadership in the fields of engineering, land surveying and planning; extensive service to his community including tenure as Mayor of East Orange; and service both as President of the National Council of Black Mayors and the President of the League of Municipalities of New Jersey.
- Robert ‘Bob’ Cozzarelli, AIA, PP – B of Arch. ‘79 For his leadership in the field of architecture, planning and design; service to professional organizations like the American Institute of Architects; and a broad array of service to volunteer organizations and the NJIT School of Architecture.
- Joseph ‘Pal Joey’ Crecca – BSME ‘62 For his inspiring leadership during his 14 years of service in the United States Air Force, including seven years in a North Vietnam prison during which he educated colleagues on subjects ranging from math & physics to classical music; and current support of military personnel in Afghanistan and Iraq.
- Gerald J. ‘Jerry’ Foschini, Ph.D. – BSEE ‘61 For his professional leadership in wireless communications, featuring development of breakthrough, patented technology for Bell Laboratories with 100 published papers, including seminal works on optical communications and resource allocation for both computer networks and wireless systems.
- Frederick ‘Fred’ Steil – BSET ‘92 For his leadership in the field of plastics technology, with special contribution in the development of new and creative solutions for mold makers; and continued support to the Engineering Technology Department’s plastics technology courses at NJIT.
