The Alumni Association of NJIT acts as an umbrella for all of NJIT's alumni organizations and programs. 

These individual alumni groups, such as regional clubs, corporate clubs, athletics alumni, fraternities, sororities, and Young Alumni Club elect representatives from among their ranks to serve on the Alumni Council and share their ideas and best practices.  Members of the Council then determine the Alumni Association's governing Board of Directors.

With each of the groups under their umbrella, the Association's goal is to facilitate success – in fostering NJIT pride, building Highlander traditions, helping alumni develop opportunities for the university’s students, and acknowledging the "good works" of NJIT graduates throughout society.
