Text Message Delivery Information

The NJIT campus-wide notification system uses a company called 2sms.com to help speed the delivery of text messages for the system.

There are no additional fees to the end user for the use of the 2sms.com service.  Your standard text message / cell phone rates may apply.  Please check with your cell phone provider for details on their rates.

2sms.com requires a terms & conditions text message be sent to each end user the first time they receive a text message from the NJIT campus-wide notification system.

If you wish to remove a device or opt-out of the NJIT campus-wide notification system, please do so by following the directions in the How-To page of this web site.

2sms.com requires the following information to be made available to all users:

SHORTCODE (FROM): 35842 or 62346
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: NJIT will initiate an alert for student/faculty/staff related alerts.
FREQUENCY OF ALERTS: As needed by NJIT.
PRICING: NJIT does not charge for this service, though standard text message charges apply by your wireless carrier.

2SMS USER PRIVACY: We will not share or use your mobile number for any other purpose.
2SMS USER FEES: Neither 2sms or NJIT charge users fees to receive text messages. However, standard text message charges apply by your wireless carrier.
2SMS USER OPT-OUT: To Opt-Out of the 2SMS service (discontinue service), text "STOP" to "35842" or "62346" from your mobile device. You will not receive any additional messages unless you 'Opt-in' again. You may also Opt-out by texting "QUIT", "END", "CANCEL", "UNSUBSCRIBE", or "STOP ALL" to any text message you receive or to short code 35842 or 62346.  Doing so will result in your text message device being opted-out of the NJIT CWNS system.
2SMS OPT-IN: If you accidentally OPT-OUT by replying back "STOP", contact 2sms by phone (877-276-7266) or email (support-us@2sms.com) with your wireless device number and we can add you back into the system, so you can continue to receive text messages from organizations from which you have subscribed an alert.  You must then follow the how-to section of this web site to re-register your text message device with the NJIT CWNS system.

2SMS CARRIERS SUPPORTED: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Alltel, Virgin Mobile, Cellular South, Boost Mobile, Cincinnati Bell, Midwest Wireless, Suncom, US Cellular Corp., Rural Cellular Corp., and the East Kentucky Network. 2SMS WARRANTY: Neither 2sms, LLC or NJIT will be liable for any delays in the receipt of any SMS messages connected with this program. Delivery of SMS messages is subject to effective transmission from your wireless service provider/network operator.
2SMS PRIVACY POLICY: 2sms, LLC respect your privacy. We will only use information you provide to transmit your text message. Nonetheless, we reserve the right at all times to disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any law, regulation or governmental request, to avoid liability, or to protect our rights or property. When you complete forms online or otherwise provide NJIT the information in connection with the Service, you agree to provide accurate, complete, and true information. You agree not to use a false or misleading name or a name that you are not authorized to use. If we, in our sole discretion, believe that any such information is untrue, inaccurate, or incomplete, we may refuse you access to the Service and pursue any appropriate legal remedies.
