Login: Username/Password Pair Not Found Summary: When logging into Highlander Pipeline, an error is generated saying that your Username/Password pair is not found. Cause: We believe this error is caused by a recent Microsoft patch (MS04-004) released February 2nd, 2004. This patch affects how Internet Explorer stores form information locally before sending that information to a remote server via a submitted form. This appears to be a side-effect of the patch's true purpose, which was to remove the http://user:password@website.com/ login functionality due to security risks (KB834489). On machines with this patch installed, it has been observed that Internet Explorer fails to properly submit form data through the login form to the Highlander Pipeline server. Solution: Microsoft has released a patch (KB831167) to correct this problem. Download and install the patch (Q831167.exe, 370KB). You must reboot your machine for the fix to take effect.
