Each year faculty members are required to submit a report on their scholarly and professional activities for the previous academic year.  In order to ease the task of compiling this annual report for academic year 2008-2009 and forward, the University has licensed software from Digital Measures called Activity Insight for Faculty.  This system is used by a large number of national universities (e.g. Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Vanderbilt,  Southern California, Wake Forest, Penn State, Tulane, Pepperdine, Georgia, Boston U, Iowa, Virginia Tech) that all look to collect and report on the teaching, research, and service activities of faculty.  Once data are in the system, reports can be prepared for the annual activity reports as well as reporting requirements for program assessment and accrediting bodies (e.g. ABET, NAACSB, NAAB).   Over time, data will be migrated from our older annual report systems so that individual faculty profiles can be produced for the university website.   A video demonstration that provides a good overview of the system and how data is input  can be viewed  from the Quick Link at the right.

Reporting for Annual Scholarly and Professional Activities

First time users of Activity Insight for Faculty should  first review:

Please note that the reporting year for scholarly and professional activities begins on September 1 and runs through August 31 of the following calendar year.

All tenured and tenure-track faculty, department chairs, academic department administrators, and others designated by department chairs have been configured with access to Activity Insight for Faculty.  Access is available by clicking the Quick Links on the right of this page. 

In order to login to Activity Insight for Faculty, you must provide your University Computing ID (UCID) .  This is the same identifier used for login to Highlander Pipeline.  A separate password is currently required for Activity Insight for Faculty.  To obtain your initial password, click the Request Your Password link and it will be e-mailed to your NJIT e-mail address (yourUCID@njit.edu).  You will be asked to choose a permanent password the first time you login.  If you should ever forget your password, click the Request Your Password link and it will be e-mailed to you.

Links are available on the right of this page for access to the annual Faculty Report systems used previously at NJIT.  Overtime data in these systems will be migrated to Activity Insight for Faculty. Updates on this schedule will be posted here and shared with faculty.
