Corporations and foundations are major partners in a wide range of outstanding NJIT programs. Grants from private institutions total more than $3.5 million per year and have helped fund:
- New academic programs and courses in computational biology, biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical engineering and information technology.
- Seed money for cutting edge research in asynchronous learning, non-invasive technology for monitoring diabetes, assistive technology for the deaf, prevention of sepsis and home modifications to meet the needs of the aged and handicapped.
- Capital costs and equipment, including the new building of New Jersey School of Architecture and the Keck Laboratory for Electro-Hydrodynamics of Suspensions.
- Student scholarships, fellowships and internships
- Faculty chairs
- Seminar series and lectures
- Pre-college programs and other initiatives to open the doors of opportunity to the disadvantaged
- Gifts-in-kind
