Honors Scholar Corina Guishard combines a major in mechanical engineering at Newark College of Engineering with a minor in management, developing skills useful to her role as a member of the Student Senate.
"My experiences have enhanced my ability to think and reason. For example, as a member of the Senate, I've take students' requests for summer classes to department heads to ask that the classes be offered, and that led to the classes being added to the curriculum. I've learned that making an effort often produces results."
Honors Scholar Krystle Harriman says that her studies at New Jersey School of Architecture have taught her about leadership, management and cooperation.
"My education at NJSOA has been a fabulous experience. It exceeded all of my expectations. I was fully challenged and invigorated by my classes and studio experiences. I made a family of lifelong friends, and my decision to study architecture was reinforced. Now I'm ready to go out and change the world."
A student of New Jersey School of Architecture, Ben Bakas is also an Albert Dorman Honors scholar.
"NJIT has prepared me for my future career better than I ever could have imagined. The school has turned me into a professionally-thinking architect. Creating the marquee was one of the most rewarding experiences I've had because I applied what I've learned in way that meets my personal goal of wanting to reach a higher design standard for our society."
