On Campus Seminars - New Medical Plans

Representatives from Horizon BCBS, Aetna and Cigna will be on campus to discuss the new medical plans:

New Medical Plans

The NJ State Health Benefits Program (SHBP) will no longer offer the Traditional Plan and NJ PLUS.  Two types of medical plans will be available: a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) and Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs).  The SHBP awarded the PPO contract to Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey and HMO contracts to Aetna HMO and Cigna Healthcare HMO.
A Special Open Enrollment period will be held from January 28 to February 15, 2008.  Due to the large subscriber population, the SHBP is planning a "passive" open enrollment.  Current subscribers will be automatically transferred to the new plan offerings as outlined below:
If you are enrolled in the Traditional Plan or NJ PLUS, you will automatically be enrolled in the Horizon NJ DIRECT 15 plan.
If you are enrolled in AmeriHealth, Health Net or Oxford HMOs, you will be automatically enrolled in Horizon NJ DIRECT 15.
If you are enrolled in either Aetna HMO or Cigna Healthcare HMO, you will remain in that HMO.
No action is required on your part unless you wish to select a different medical plan or waive your medical coverage.  
To elect a different plan, you must complete a SHBP Enrollment Application.  
To waive medical coverage, both a SHBP Enrollment Application and a SHBP Waiver/Reinstatement Application must be completed.
Completed forms must be received by the Human Resources Office, Fenster Hall, Suite 500 no later than  February 15, 2008.  The effective date of coverage is April 1, 2008.

Performance Management and Merit Review Process
