The New Jersey Institute of Technology has a rich history with its beginnings developing from the industrial age. With its humble opening in 1885 as The Newark Technical School with 88 students, NJIT now enrolls over 10,000 students and employs a workforce of over 1300 full time equivalent employees.

NJIT has been recognized nationally for providing graduates with a high rate of return on their investment, has earned national prominence by developing relevant academic programs taught by leading practitioners in their fields, is ranked in the top 50 among colleges without a medical school for research expenditures, and in the top 10 among universities whose main research is in engineering. More recently, in spring 2014, NJIT announced its new economic development venture—New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII) which is comprised of Innovation Labs (iLabs) that follow industry-led agendas designed to spur product creation and enhancement, develop solutions for sector-wide and/or company-focused challenges, and serve as a catalyst for regional economic growth.

Our workforce is the driving force behind our successes. We are committed to care for our employees and offer competitive salary and excellent benefits.

We invite you to build and advance your career with NJIT to help our students become leaders and innovators who shape industry and the nation.
