	Medicare Parts A & B

A member is eligible for Medicare at age 65. However, it is not necessary for a Medicare-eligible employee or spouse to be covered by Medicare while they remain actively at work. An employee is required to enroll in both Parts A & B prior to retirement so that coverage will be effective at the time of retirement.
