Maintenance Request System

This maintenance request system allows NJIT faculty, staff and students to request maintenance on campus to be performed by Facility Services (formerly Physical Plant).

If you have an urgent situation (e.g. no heat, electric, gas, water; flood or overflow; extreme low or high room temperatures) please contact our Service Desk at 973-596-3123 or Public Safety at 973-596-3111 after normal work hours.

The Maintenance Request System expedites the process for getting work completed and provides communication to the requestor with the following features:

  • Enter detailed information (and pictures) of your request.
  • Specify which "craft" is needed to do the work.  A list of crafts is available on the "crafts" tab.
  • Craft supervisors can email you to request more information or to give you a status.
  • The system will automatically email you to give you updates (in progress, parts on order, complete, etc)
  • You can customize your settings to get more (or less) status emails.
  • You can review previous requests.

MaintenanceDirect by SchoolDude is a cloud-based corrective maintenance solution.  It is integrated with NJIT's active directory to allow you to securely sign in with your NJIT Highlander Pipeline user name and password.  The system will give the entire Real Estate Development and Capital Operations area the ability to better track open orders, understand repeat maintenance issues, monitor preventive maintenance activities, and communicate with our customers.  The system enhances productivity and provide data so we may continuously improve our service to the NJIT community.
