Babette Hoyle, production coordinator in NJIT’s Office of University Communications, joined a group of community volunteers who helped to rebuild a fire-damaged house in Irvington that was featured on May 21 on the season finale of the television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The occupants of the house, a single mother and her nine adopted special needs children, had been displaced by a fire caused by faulty electrical wiring. The rebuilt home now has three stories and is entirely handicapped-accessible.
