Counter-Terrorism Symposium Held at NJIT Tomorrow
NEWARK, Oct 17 2008
The public is invited to a counter-terrorism symposium tomorrow at NJIT from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. The forum will focus on ways to secure schools, health and transportation facilities, protect customs, borders and port security, strengthen emergency response times and more. Presenters will include NJ State Police, Customs and Border Protection, New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, U.S. Coast Guard and NJ Department of Public Safety. Sponsors include NJ Chapter of the Marine Corps Reserve Association, NY Shipping Association and PhibroChem Ltd., Ridgefield Park.
Attorney and West Point graduate Tim Connors, a lieutenant colonel in the US Army Reserves, will be the keynote speaker. Connors will draw upon anecdotal experiences from his experiences in Afghanistan coupled with his 20-plus years of work in the areas of national defense, counter-terrorism, and homeland security.
