Distinguished Professor of History Richard B. Sher, PhD, a former Guggenheim Fellow, has been awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship to edit a volume of the correspondence of James Boswell. Sher will spend time this winter and spring at Yale University and this summer at the National Library of Scotland in Edinburgh.

Mechanical Engineering Professor Ian S. Fischer, PhD, is pleased to announce that his student Muhammad Mansoor Janjua who will receive his PhD degree this month, has been appointed assistant professor at Lake Superior State University in Michigan starting in the Spring 2009 semester. Janjua wrote his thesis on the electro-hydrodynamic self-assembly of particles at fluid-fluid interfaces and. was co-advised by Professor Pushpendra Singh.
