An article by NJIT Research Professor Hans Chaudhry (lead author) and co-authored by Bruce Bukiet, associate professor in the department of mathematical sciences, and Zhiming Ji, professor in the department of mechanical and industrial engineering, has received the 2009 George W. Northup, DO, Medical Writing Award from The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association (JAOA). The article “Three-Dimensional Mathematical Model for Deformation of Human Fasciae in Manual Therapy” appeared in the JAOA's August 2008 issue. The Northup Award recognizes contributions to the JAOA that have the potential to change the way osteopathic physicians think, practice medicine, and conduct research.
