MEDIA ADVISORY: Geek Love: Valentine's Day Dinner Tomorrow for NJIT Alum Couples
WHAT: Love is always in the air at NJIT and there are no better people to discuss romance than couples who met here and married. A dozen-plus alum couples will joyfully reminisce about how and where they met tomorrow night at this NJIT annual event in Eberhardt Hall.
Three Valentine’s Day student extravaganzas are also planned for Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011. At 8 p.m. in the Campus Center, Sigma Psi Kappa Sorority hosts its annual “date auction” to raise funds for the American Heart Association. At 9 p.m., the Student Senate sponsors a Valentine’s Day Party in the 3rd Floor Campus Center Pub at which 150 students will compete for free dinners at Newark’s finest. Iota Phi Theta fraternity will simultaneously host a dance party for 300, in the 2nd floor Campus Center Ballroom.

BACKGROUND: “Science and tech schools don’t usually conjure up images of love and romance,” said Donna Minnich Spuhler, director of the NJIT Campus Center. “But dating is alive and well at NJIT. More than 400 social events are held annually, enabling students to interact. And they do.” But come out and see for yourself.
