NJIT doctoral students Daniel Boston and Manoop Talasila recently received honorable mention in the Microsoft 2011 Imagine Cup US competition.

The students created a self-narrated slide presentation, “MobiCrops,” describing a smart phone and social media program to enable farmers worldwide to better plan and distribute crops to needy markets. The objective is to educate farmers about new technological innovations with the hope of eradicating world-wide hunger. Cristian Borcea, PhD, associate professor in the department of computer science in the College of Computing Sciences is their advisor.
