Goldwater Scholarship Recipient Faizan Naqvi Honored at Reception

Faizan Naqvi, of Kearny, a junior majoring in electrical engineering and the third of three brothers to receive a Goldwater Scholarship, was honored yesterday at a reception attended by NJIT President Robert A. Altenkirch, administrators and his parents. Faizan joins his brothers, Mohammad '09, who attended the reception, and Salman '10, a graduate student at Stanford University, who also received Goldwater Scholarships. Joining in the celebration were Ian Gatley; provost; Haiman Wang; distinguished professor of physics; Gene M. Jonakait, distinguished professor of biological sciences; Atam Dhawan, associate dean, ADHC; Leonid Tsybeskov, chair of the ECE Department; and John D. Carpinelli, professor in the department of electrical and computer engineering.
