Architecture Professor Leads Conference Sessions on Integration of Building Technology and Architectural Design

Matt Burgermaster

Matt Burgermaster, assistant professor in NJIT's College of Architecture and Design, acted as a Session Chair for the conference In the Beginning/In the End, the 2011 National Conference of the Beginning Design Student (NCBDS). This conference session, entitled “Integrating Integration”, called for innovative teaching strategies and curricular models that integrate building technology into architectural design education.  Its goal was to critically examine the long-standing fragmentation of technology and design into unsustainable dichotomies of thinking vs. making, theory vs. practice, academy vs. profession within the context of contemporary mandates for integrated, high performance building. Additional information on this topic is available at: http://ncbds.unl.edu/a2.html.
