Stephanie Thompson, of Belford, a third-year digital design student, and Polina Zaitseva, of Hackensack, an adjunct faculty member in NJIT’s School of Art + Design, have each had work selected for display and competition at the 2011 Digital Graffiti Festival in Alys Beach, Florida. They are among the 36 international finalists competing for thousands of dollars in prizes and worldwide recognition. Thompson’s “Another Perspective” (created as part of the course requirements for a design elective taught by Assistant Professor Andrzej Zarzycki) and Zaitseva’s independently created “Blue Orange” will be among the works that will be evaluated by a panel of judges whose backgrounds include art, film, architecture, and journalism. The Festival will take place from 8:30 p.m. to midnight on June 11, 2011.
