COAD Assistant Professor Presents at SIGGRAPH Conference

Andrzej Zarzycki

College of Architecture and Design Assistant Professor Andrzej Zarzycki made two presentations during the “Capture and Construction” session at the 2011 ACM/SIGGRAPH conference on August 11 in Vancouver, British Columbia. “Designing with Constraints: Parametric BIM” and “Form-Making with Special Effects Tools” both addressed cross-disciplinary tools and applications that combine architecture, dynamic (including time-based) representation, and physical computing with the use of information technology in design exploration and analysis. With work combining art and technology, Zarzycki used examples from classes taught in the College of Architecture and Design to illustrate opportunities in the areas of digital design and architecture. SIGGRAPH 2011 drew more than 15,000 participants representing 74 countries from the computer graphics and technology fields to what became the largest conference ever held in Vancouver.
