NEWARK, Mar 20 2012
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded the Department of Biomedical Engineering funding for creating an REU site. REU stands for Research Experiences for Undergraduates. The project, led by Bryan Pfister, Associate Professor and Interim Department Chair in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and Raquel Perez-Castillejos, Assistant Professor and Director of Tissue Models Lab, will be NJIT’s first REU program funded by NSF on neural engineering. The three year REU site program will engage ten undergraduate students each year in research focused in the area of neural engineering and coincides with the latest NJIT initiative to promote undergraduate research.
