The College of Architecture and Design recently held its second annual Dean’s Design Competition for New Jersey high school students naming Montclair's Jordan Sabourin first place winner. Sabourin designed a series of stage sets for a puppet presentation of Edgar Allen Poe’s Mask of the Red Death. The competition is intended to raise awareness of the various career paths open to students interested in design, to introduce students to the College of Architecture and Design at NJIT, and to familiarize students with the value of the competition process. Seventy-five students entered the competition from over ten high schools in New Jersey. iPads and scholarships to the College Summer Architecture + Design program were distributed to winners at a gala awards ceremony at the College.
