NJIT Student Wins Seat in PLUS Program
NEWARK, May 15 2012
Law, Technology and Culture (LTC) Major Vanessa Espinal has won a seat in the Rutgers Camden School of Law Pre-Law Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) Program. Participants live on campus for the run of the program, June 4-29, where they will have an opportunity to interact with and learn from law school professors, deans, current students, practicing attorneys and current/former judges. PLUS is made possible by a generous grant from the Law School Admission Council and entails a rigorous curriculum in critical thinking, critical reading, problem solving, writing, and persuasive and public speaking skills. The LSAC DiscoverLaw.org PLUS Program at Rutgers University School of Law - Camden uses an active learning model where participants assume the roles of lawyers in simulated cases. Students work in teams that each receive a case file and then must work through all the steps involved in representing a client. The PLUS Program includes law school classes, a moot court competition, field trips to law firms, legal service organizations and other venues, guest speakers and professionalism seminars.
