NJIT’s Center for Wireless Communications and Signal Processing Research has been dedicated to Elisha Yegal Bar-Ness at a ceremony commemorating the late alumnus and honoring his father, Yeheskel Bar-Ness, distinguished professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Elisha Yegal Bar-Ness died in 1992, shortly after completing bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering at NJIT. The dedication ceremony was held on May 17, attended by members of the Bar-Ness family, friends, and NJIT administration, faculty and staff. Professor Bar-Ness and his wife, Varda, are in the second row in the photo, first and second on the left. Since founding the wireless communications center in 1986, Professor Bar-Ness has guided its development into one of the world’s preeminent research organizations in the field.
