Raymond B. Landis will present "Facilitating Engineering Student Success."
Raymond B. Landis, Dean Emeritus of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology at California State University will present a workshop on Aug. 28, 9:30-11:30 a.m. in Eberhardt Hall 115. The purpose of the workshop, “Facilitating Engineering Student Success,” is to model active learning approaches for building first-year engineering students into learning communities, strengthening their commitment to engineering, and facilitating change in their attitudes and behaviors to those appropriate to success in math, science, and engineering coursework. The morning session will be followed by a hands-on workshop in the afternoon (1-4 p.m.) for Learning Community instructors and academic advisors utilizing the Studying Engineering text in the Freshman Seminar course. Others are welcome to attend, but should RSVP to Peggy Kenrick.
