About 100 staff and faculty members gathered in the Campus Center Atrium Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, to enjoy a round of thanks along with a special lunch for the contributions made by all, which resulted in NJIT’s strong Middle States Accreditation. Speakers included NJIT President Joel Bloom, Chief of Staff Henry Ross and Provost Ian Gatley. “Wonderful things are happening here,” Gatley told the assemblage. “It really is a joy to be part of this team.” Ross read off names of the many, many contributors to the lengthy process. Bloom profusely thanked all for their work then went on to outline recommendations made by the Middle States team to help NJIT move forward and grow even stronger. The recommendations included increasing attention to faculty development and student learning outcomes, shared governance and communication and more.
