CSLA Dean Fadi P. Deek provided opening remarks at the first annual Curriculum, Learning, & Assessment Studies (CLAS) Conference held on October 17 in the Campus Center Atrium. Carlo Parravano, executive director of the Merck Institute for Science Education, was the keynote speaker. The conference focused on the importance of an integrated vision for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education with literacy and assessment.
