Reginald Tomkins, professor of chemical engineering and co-op adviser for the Otto H. York Department of Chemical, Biological and Pharmaceutical Engineering, was the winner of the 2011 Zaida C. Morales Martinez ACS Scholars Mentoring Prize. The prize was presented at the National Meeting of ACS held in Philadelphia in September, 2012. The ACS Scholars Program was established in 1994 to attract African American, Hispanic and American Indian students considered unrepresented in the chemical sciences to pursue careers in the field. The program also aims to help build awareness of the value and rewards associated with careers in the chemical sciences. For more information, click here.
