The NJIT Faculty Council Standing Committee on Research will host a Pre-award and Grantsmanship Seminar on Jan. 30, from 11:30 am - 2:30 p.m. in Eberhardt Hall (Room 112).  The Office of Provost and Office of Research and Development are sponsors.  The seminar will spotlight the NJIT grant proposal preparation and submission process and share faculty experiences writing competitive grant proposals to National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institutes of Health (NIH).  The goal is to launch NJIT researchers into successful academic careers.  Presenters will include NJIT Senior Vice President for Research and Development Donald H. Sebastian, who will introduce the Office of Sponsored Research Administration and the pre-award process.  Professor Andrei Sirenko, an NSF Early Career Award recipient, will discuss his experiences building a successful academic career with NSF and DOD funding support.  Associate Professor Mesut Sahin will share his extensive experiences developing and expanding his research with NIH funding support.  To attend, email your questions and registration by Jan. 21 to Professor Zeyuan Qiu zeyuan.qiu@njit.edu.  Include your name, title, department, email and phone.  If space permits, recently-hired NJIT faculty members, post-doctoral researchers and doctoral students in their final year of study are welcome with permission of their faculty advisors.  When registering, post-doctoral researchers and doctoral students must include their supervising faculty members’ contact information.
