Inspiration, innovation and invention will be this year’s theme for the annual campus-wide undergraduate research showcase on Feb. 6, 2013 from 2-6 p.m. in the second floor gallery and ballroom of the NJIT Campus Center. “The showcase is a celebration of the success of undergraduate students at NJIT during the past year,” said event organizer Newark College of Engineering (NCE) University Lecturer Balraj Mani. Poster presentations will showcase the findings of student projects followed by an awards ceremony nearing the end of the afternoon. The program will include a welcome address by NCE Distinguished Professor Sunil Saigal and podium presentations from selected students
“What began two years ago as an informal workshop with 10 participating undergraduate students has tripled in size this year to 35 participants,” said Saigal. “Beginning with writing a research proposal, the event teaches students how to plan and perform research, analyze outcomes and present their findings in a public forum. Our goal is to accelerate the growth of undergraduate research at NJIT because we believe that engaging students in open-ended problems best prepares them for a productive, entrepreneurial future.” For more information, please contact Mani.
