The Society of Women Engineers at NJIT has been awarded a grant to support its continued goal of increasing the number of women studying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The award, funded by ExxonMobil, is part of the national SWE grant competition for K-12 (pre-college) outreach programs. Led by Marina Saint-Val, Rimmy Garg, and Yasmine Aly, undergraduate president, undergraduate outreach coordinator, and graduate coordinator, respectively, the proposal, “Innovation through Imagination,” aims to promote and consolidate the interest of pre-college women in STEM through various fun and thought-provoking projects. An outreach event is scheduled for April.
