The Director of NJIT’s Advanced Manufacturing Talent Network (ManufactureNJ), Meredith Aronson, was awarded “Business Person of the Year” by Essex County Vocational Technical Schools at the Essex County Vocational Technical Schools board meeting on Feb. 25. Her work in connecting companies and workforce needs to the school were noted in remarks by Michael Pennella and John Dolan from the district. ManufactureNJ is one of seven sector-focused talent networks funded by the New Jersey Department of Labor and is hosted at NJIT in the Continuing and Professional Education program under Gale Spak. The goal of the network is to develop the relationships between manufacturers, education, and the Department of Labor system to strengthen the quality of the advanced manufacturing workforce across the State of New Jersey. NJIT’s leadership in this domain draws on its deep roots with the manufacturers of New Jersey.
