NSF CAREER Award Workshop: Register Today

The NJIT Research Committee will host the NSF CAREER Award Workshop on April 3 from 11:30 – 2:30 p.m. in 112 Eberhart Hall.  The objectives of the workshop are to provide an open forum for the newly hired faculty members to interact with the NSF CAREER awardees on campus and help them jump-start their CAREER proposal preparation and submission.  Participants of the workshop will discuss the following topics:

• The development and refinement of the ideas for the CAREER proposals

• The important sections of a successful CAREER proposal, such as intellectual merit, broad impact, and budget

• The timelines for proposal submission and NJT resources available for PI’s

• The role of mentors at each department

• Letters of collaboration: what should and should not be written there

• When to apply? First year vs. third year at NJIT

• Alternative funding opportunities, such as DOE, Cortell Award, and Research Corporation
