A lucky group of NJIT undergraduate students enrolled in the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program available through the Newark College of Engineering’s Department of Engineering Technology recently returned from a fascinating week in Las Vegas at the World of Concrete Annual Conference. Activities included manning the CIM booth and explaining to visitors about NJIT’s program. Students assisted with the registration process and advertising efforts for the annual auction which included donations ranging from several loads of cement to a delivery truck. Auction proceeds support the CIM program at universities like NJIT. The students also participated in “Concrete Cares,” a competition in which students from universities from across the US compete to get their ideas stenciled onto a concrete slab. NJIT students on the trip included: Joana Marques, Newark; Robert Goncalves, Hazlet; Andrew Kelemen, Cornwall, NY; Brian Neves, South River; Edgar Polanco, North Brunswick; Narguis Benyamin, Garfield and Andrew Canon, Parsippany.
