SOM Students Participate at CFA Institute Research Challenge

Jose Rubiani III, Anthony Boon, Orest Bidnyk, and Reem Nakshbandy recently represented NJIT at the CFA Institute Research Challenge (IRC), where the School of Management (SOM) students competed head-to-head against 27 other universities, some of the best schools in the region.  To prepare, the team spent months studying various financial models, economic, financial, and political factors affecting corporate performance, and collecting first-hand data to gauge potential demand for new products.  In addition, the team practiced numerous hours to effectively present a convincing argument to a panel of professional financial analysts in 10 short minutes.  Of the experience Rubiani commented, “To be part of something this special was more than I ever thought I would get as an undergrad.  It yielded such a scholastically-gratifying opportunity.”  Nakshbandy stated, “It was an amazing experience and a great source of learning.  I would highly recommend to other students who have the ability.”
