Michael P Bieber

Michael Bieber, PhD, is acting chair of the Department of Information Systems, professor of information systems and director of the Hypermedia Information Systems Research Laboratory at New Jersey Institute of Technology, where improving information access and comprehension is the goal of his hypermedia research.

An active researcher in systems integration, digital libraries and educational innovation, Bieber is better known among information scientists at NJIT and around the nation as the principal investigator on a project to create a super-sized library. Project funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) tops $2 million.

Bieber received his PhD and MA in 1990 and his BAS and BSE degrees in 1980 from the University of Pennsylvania.
