Alok K Chakrabarti

Alok K. Chakrabarti, PhD,  is a distinguished professor of management and industrial engineering in the School of Management at New Jersey Institute of Technology. Chakrabarti is the founding dean of the School of Management at NJIT and served in that capacity till 2000.

He has spent two years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Sloan Foundation Fellow. He currently visits the Helsinki University of Technology as a visiting professor and is involved in various projects related to e-business and technology management.

Chakrabarti serves as the editor for e-business at the IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management. He is associate editor for the International Journal of Strategic Change. He received the Research Award from the International Association of Management of Technology in 2004.

Chakrabarti received his PhD from Northwestern University; his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management; and his BChE from Jadavpur University.
