Laurent Simon, PhD, is an associate professor of chemical engineering and an associate director of the pharmaceutical engineering program at New Jersey Institute of Technology. His research and teaching interests involve modeling, analysis and control of drug-delivery systems.
Simon is the author of Laboratory Online, available at http://www.laurentsimon.com, a series of educational and interactive modules to enhance engineering knowledge in drug-delivery technologies and underlying engineering principles. His contributions include four book chapters, over fifty presentations and thirty-five journal articles on bioprocess control, mass transfer and controlled-released systems. He is currently writing a textbook on the control of biological and drug-delivery systems due for publication in 2012.
Simon has received several awards, including the 2006-2007 Excellence in Teaching Award, the 2009 NCE Saul K. Fenster Innovation in Engineering Education Award and the Master Teacher Designation.
He earned a PhD in chemical engineering from Colorado State University in 2001.
